FAQs

A finished project image would be helpful for selling the kits in a retail store

Is access to the website something you get with the kit or if it is designed to get people to buy a kit?

Are you Creative?

Answers fell into one of two categories:

1. I'm creative but don't spend enough engaging in creative activities

Do you consider yourself creative? Yes. Very.

How often do you engage in creative activities? Not enough.

Do you consider yourself creative? Yes, but not artistic

2. I'm not creative but I like making things and need help doing it.

Do you consider yourself creative? No, not really. I like the idea of making things, but I become too overwhelmed with choices and decisions. I like to be told what to do - step by step!

Branding / Design

“I love the packaging design of the boxes - It’s bold with a good color palette, and nice typography throughout.”

"I am blown away by the aesthetic of the line. They are tight, sharp, and clever. Vintage while still feeling fresh-- the QR code next to 1950's clip-art doesn't look out of place."

"The look and feel; the simplicity of the projects and their one-page presentations. So easy!"

Creativity Tips

"I didn't know that all those things helps boost creativity, so mission accomplished teaching something knew. I did absolutely LOVE the video about it. Very well done."

"I appreciate the whole spectrum of information in the creativity boost section - thinking about with connecting body and mind is really rewarding."

"The kits seem really well thought out, the inspire/creativity-boosting activities is a unique angle."

"I think the unique creativity-boosting aspect is marketable. I also think the kits you developed are unique and work well with the retro vibes of the boxes/graphics.  Offering a video with instructions is a great feature to a kit."

App Prototype

"Absolutely appreciate the interface - basically allows for you to pick your own adventure when stepping into something that is process oriented and how all things are connected. It is encouraging and appreciated."

“I think the app is a good concept to guide someone through the creation process.”

"I appreciate having both printed written instructions as well as digital links to the instructions."

"All around this project is put together rather nicely. The graphics and extra resources for people is thoughtful and helpful when starting to create something new. The app makes it encouraging so that it isn't so scary to get started. It also allows for people to purchase the kit on their own or to work through it with a group of people."

Key Takeaways

Work on retail display - eventually

Most people I know consider themselves creative, which was not what I expected. I realized that the problem I was posing, "i'm not creative" is true for some but the actual problem I discovered in my research is that in general most people, creative or not, do not feel they are living up to their creative potential. So although this discovery came late in the process, it ultimately doesn't change the direction of my project.
